Three King’s Day in Solexico Oaxaca

On January 6th, all of our students will enjoy the traditional Rosca de Reyes and hot chocolate at Solexico Oaxaca.  The tradition goes that those who cut into the rosca and have a plastic toy baby in their piece (which is thought to be a baby Jesus) must share tamales with everyone present on February 2nd.  Those who want to participate can join us to deliver toys to the orphanages where we send volunteers.  We will be collecting donations for the toys throughout December and the first week of January and will purchase the toys to have them ready to deliver at 12:00 on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010. There will also be a lecture to learn more about the traditions on Three King’s Day.  No additional cost.
