Special Benito Juarez Tour

On Sunday, March 21st Solexico will offer a special tour in observance of Benito Juarez’ Birthday.  Benito Juarez was born in Guelatao, Oaxaca of Zapotecan heritage; was elected Governor of Oaxaca in 1847; and became President of the Republic of Mexico in 1858.  Our tour guide will take students to Guelatao to experience the celebration firsthand and visit the small lake nearby and  the Benito Juarez Museum in Guelatao.  Then participants will be taken to Calpulapam de Mendez to visit  the local church and eat in a typical restaurant in the village.  Schedule: 9am to 5pm.  Cost:  $ 50 USD (for students attending Solexico) and includes mid-day meal, exclusive guide for Solexico students, entrance fees and transportation.
